2008 Harley-Davidson FLSTSB Cross Bones Motorcycle Review Read the full motorcycle review at Motorcycle.com. www.motorcycle.com The Cross Bones is part of Harley-Davidson's Dark Customs line. What sets it apart from bikes in the Softail line, as well as some of the other Dark Customs, is its nod to the bike-bobbing past. Mini ape-hanger rubber-mounted handlebars and minimal front and rear fenders are easy cues to the direction the bike's styling is headed.

Test rode this and a dyna streetbob (amongst two other variations of the dyna family)… decided to buy a harley nightster instead. All beautiful bikes, but the Nightster handled the best, at least for me.

I dont like the way it rides. Seat sets to high. If you take one hand off the bar it shakes. But I do like the wide tires. Much better on grooved roads. The bike looks great! But they dont call it a softail cause they ride smooth. lol I just dont like the ride. But It does look great!

I ride a VTX and I love it. If I was to buy a Harley this one looks to be right up my alley if it doesnt shake itself to death! LOL

I’ve never understood the phrase “factory custom” Does it roll off the factory floor followed by hundreds of other bikes that look exactly the same? yes? then its not custom now is it.

Nice bike but…

…wrong rear fender, should look more like the Road King Classic, with a low-mounted tombstone light;

…wrong handlebars, a broomhandle bar would look much better, possibly with the mirrors bolted to the bar end;

Still, nice bike…

black out the chrome and replace the apehangers – cover up the plastic springer seat base with leather…. perhaps some white wall tires… and you are set to go. Harleys never come exactly the way you want them. You have to do some of the work yourself ;-)

After road racing for many years, I’m starting to do something I thought would never happen. Even in my old age..
I’m considering a) riding on the street, and b) buying an HD. Prolly the XR, but the X-Bones has got my attention as well. Problem with the thing is, it’s supposed to be “retro”, yet HD couldn’t resist throwing chrome at it. It’s like they got half way done and the withdrawls became too much for ‘em. De-chromed and without those horrible ape hangers, I’d do more than “consider” one.

what a bunch of reds…

This is a $17K bike in the US. I’m planning on getting one and converting the rear to a 250mm tire, bobber style.

That damn headlight looks horrible mounted so high. Roland-Sands makes a conversion bracket to mount it to the lower-end of the spring.

No Rev Limit . COM

Shiny side up guys…
