The Ford F150 truck has now been in production for well over 30 years now and initially when it appeared on the scene it was more commonly referred to as the "heavy half ton" by the company. Simply because the F100 was also still in production at this time. Yet it took another 24 years before Ford finally came out with a new version and which they worked on in conjunction with another iconic vehicle company, namely Harley Davidson Motorcycles. So in 1999 the Ford Harley Davidson F150 was born.
Since it being first introduced the Ford Motor Company have now brought out several different models of this great looking vehicle. But everything that they have done on this model since it first appeared is that it resonates the heritage of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company. Below we take a look at the two latest versions of this truck, which are certainly going to be winners with both Ford and Harley Davidson enthusiasts alike.
1. The 2006 Ford Harley Davidson F150 Supercab - A beautiful looking vehicle which provides the rough and ruggedness you expect from a Ford truck but with the added benefits of some beautiful custom detailing, such as you would see on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The exterior of the vehicle monotone but comes with a custom scalloped red paint stripe running the complete length of the vehicle which is then further accentuated by electric blue. Along with this custom paintwork on the vehicle at set intervals along the vehicles belt line you will find the Harley Davidson script.
Along with the chrome billet grille and headlamps, which have been blacked out in, comes with 22 inch forged aluminum rims, which have been polished. This provides it with a somewhat menacing look.
2. 2007 Ford Harley Davidson F150 Supercrew Where as the 2006 Supercab only came in monotone black today you have the choice of either the monotone black or a dark amethyst finish to your truck. Again just like the Supercab it comes with 22 inch polished forged aluminum wheels and a chrome billet grille. Plus the standard blacked out headlights and taillights, which are standard on all Ford Harley Davidson trucks.
But the difference in this truck is to be found under hits hood. As with this model you have the option of a supercharger which would normally be found on the Ford Shelby GT500 being fitted above the Harley Davidson engine. Which is able to provide 450 break horsepower.
Along with all the normal refinements that Ford include in their vehicles they have added additions which make it almost feel as you riding on the open road on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The seats (captains chairs) in the Ford Harley Davidson F150 truck are made from leather and into them has been stitched the logo which has become synonymous with one of the most iconic motorcycles the world knows. Also it has plenty of chrome trim and accessories in the cabs interior which further give it the feeling of being a custom made vehicle rather than one that has come off a production line.
